Kevin Troutman, Partner in the Houston Office of Fisher & Phillips, LLP

Kevin Troutman is an associate in the Houston and New Orleans offices of Fisher & Phillips, LLP. In addition to his experience as an employment attorney, he has considerable practical experience, which he gained as a human resources executive in the health care industry. Before completing law school, Mr. Troutman spent more than 17 years in health care management positions, including a period when he was the senior HR manager for 22 hospitals in five states. He remains active in the industry, as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), state and regional heath care groups, the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHRRA.)

Joseph W. Gagnon, Fisher & Phillips, LLP

Joe Gagnon is Of Counsel in the Houston office. He represents employers in litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Joe handles the defense of a wide variety of discrimination and discharge claims brought under Title VII, the ADA, FMLA, and whistleblower statutes such as Sarbanes-Oxley. He also defends state law claims of workers' comp retaliation, breach of contract, fraud, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and assault. He provides preventive services to reduce the likelihood of litigation, including general consultation, management and employee training, development of employment policies, and consultation regarding legislative current events and judicial trends. Joe is an experienced appellate advocate, having represented clients in original actions, interlocutory appeals, and appeals of final judgments in both state and federal courts.
